Ravinder Takkar has been CEO of Vodafone Romania since May 2014. Previously, Mr. Takkar has been CEO Vodafone Partner Markets since January 2012, up to now. During this time, he has ensured business growth by expanding Vodafone’s footprint with the addition of new partners which include Zain Group (Kuwait, Bahrain, Jordon, Saudi Arabia and Iraq), Plus GSM (Poland), Vodafone Brasil (Brazil), FarEasTone (Taiwan) and Vinaphone (Vietnam).
Ravinder Takkar joined Vodafone in 1994 and has held a variety of senior roles in both Vodafone Group and Vodafone’s joint venture companies, including EBU Director and Strategy Director of Vodafone India, Group Product Development Manager for Vodafone Live, Chief Technology Officer for Vizzavi and other operating roles in Vodafone Spain and Vodafone Portugal. Mr. Takkar was a board member of Vodafone India and Indus Towers (a joint venture between Vodafone India, Airtel and Idea).
Prior to joining Vodafone, Mr. Takkar was a management consultant at DMR Group.
Ravinder Takkar, 46 years old, has a Bachelor Degree in Computer Science from Loyola Marymount University, Los Angeles. Indian born, he is also a US citizen.
Vodafone Romania is a subsidiary of Vodafone Group, one of the world’s largest telecommunications companies which provide a range of services including voice, messaging, data and fixed communications. Vodafone has mobile operations in 26 countries, partners with mobile networks in 55 more, and fixed broadband operations in 17 markets. As of 31 March 2015, Vodafone had 446 million mobile customers and 12 million fixed broadband customers.
