- The FIC has organized yesterday its Annual General Assembly. On this occasion, the 2013 White Book - "The future starts now" has been launched and the new Board of the FIC has been elected.
The new edition of the White Book
elaborates on the FIC guiding principles such as transparency and predictability. The document is a roadmap aimed at defining the activities to be carried out by the FIC in the next two years and highlights a series of priorities and recommendations in order to improve the Romanian business environment for the benefit of investorsâ community at large. Through its Task Forces, the FIC has constantly formulated high numbers of policy recommendations and programmes for making Romania more FDI attractive to large investors. Representatives of the 124 member companies of the FIC have elected yesterday the new Board of the FIC.

The new Board would continue the multi-stakeholder dialogue (investors, government institutions, central and local authorities, and CSOs) in order to reach a sustainable economic growth.
Mr. Steven van Groningen, who will end his second consecutive one-year mandate as President of the FIC in June 2013, thanked to all FIC members for dedicating their time and expertise to a series of joint projects and for their overall activity throughout the past two years.

The Foreign Investors Council (FIC) is an association of the leading investors in Romania. The FIC was established in 1997 when it officially began its activity with 25 companies as members.
Today, the FIC has 124 member companies whose cumulated investments in Romania exceed EUR 35 billion representing approximately two thirds of the total foreign direct investment made since 1990.
The FIC includes multinational companies providing the Romanian economy with a variety of goods and services and creating almost 200,000 direct and indirect jobs.
In Top 10 largest companies by turnover, 8 companies are FIC members, and 37 member companies are included in Top 100 - as per the report "Major Companies in Romania" published in 2011, by IBP.
Every two years the FIC publishes the White Book which provides a comprehensive overview of Romania's investment climate and specific recommendations for improving the business environment. The White Book is the result of the valuable and voluntary contribution of time, resources, and efforts by the FIC's Members, officers, Board, task forces, and staff.
