Bucharest, May 13, 2014
The Foreign Investors Council - FIC together with the Prahova Chamber of Commerce and Industry organized recently a roundtable with representatives of SMEs in Prahova County.
FIC presented the results of a study conducted among SMEs in Prahova County which aimed to get a detailed picture of the business conditions SMEs operate in. FIC wanted to understand their level of confidence in the current business environment and the knowledge they have about their competitors, other markets, legislative changes or financial opportunities.
Following this study FIC believes it can use the know-how of large companies to support SMEs in Romania when they have difficulties accessing financing, European funds or when they find it difficult to expand into new domestic or international markets.
During the roundtable SME representatives had the opportunity to interact with several FIC member companies which shared information about funding opportunities, European funds in the next programming period and about the experience of large companies in their interaction with SMEs in Romania.
The SME sector is fundamental to Romania's economic growth and high level of employment and to this end their interaction with large companies and authorities is welcome and necessary. FIC was encouraged by the results and will thus continue the project and will organize various workshops on topics of interest to SMEs. FIC also aims to extend the area of study to other counties in Romania.
A short presentation of the results of the FIC study is accesible at the following link
