The Nitrogenous Fertilizer Plant Tîrgu-Mures – known today as AZOMURES – was founded in 1962 as a producer of nitrogenous fertilizers. The Nitrogenous Fertilizer Plant Tîrgu-Mures consisted of three main producing plants (ammonia, nitric acid and ammonium nitrate) and five auxiliary units necessary for providing the plant with cooling water, demineralized water, steam, electric power, spare parts and equipment.

Over the years it has developed in several stages.

Together with the increase of the price of the energy, several high energy consumers from the older installations had been shut down.

The only installations to continue operations were the following: Ammonia III, Ammonia IV, Nitric Acid II, III and IV, Urea, Melamine, NPK, CET I and II and Ammonium Nitrate I, II and III. After 1990, AZOMURES had gone through several periods of restructuring, a privatization in the late 90’s, and in 2012 the property was transferred to the Ameropa company.

E.ON has been present on the Romanian market since 2005, following the takeover of the majority shareholdings of the state owned companies Distrigaz Nord and Electrica Moldova. Between 2005 -2012, E.ON has rehabilitated and upgraded approx - imately 4,840 km of gas network, more than the total length of Romania’s borders. Last year, investments exceeded 85 million euros. The investments targeted this year are around 87 million euros.

"For sure, in the calculation the E.ON Group made in 2005, oneo f the elements which weighted heavily for the decision to make the investment was the outstanding potential of the Romanian market, especially of its energy sector. In order to maintain these advantages, especially in such difficult times, Romania must ensure compliance with its assumed commitments, for example by creating an attractive business environment, ensuring legislative predictability and stability. Through our presence in FIC, we want to make a contribution toa constant and seminal dialogue with representatives of the authorities, so as to find together solutions that will enhance Romania’s attractiveness, develop the economy and create new jobs."

With over 70 million EUR invested in Romania so far, Green Group is leading investor in the green industry, managing to create here a true benchmark for the European recycling sector.

First investments were made in Buzau 12 years ago, with the establishment of GreenTech - one of the biggest plastic recyclers in South Eastern Europe. Later followed GreenFiber International - top European polyester fiber producer, GreenWEEE International - first certified by WEEELEBEX standard in Europe, one of the most modern facility for processing and recycling electronics and batteries waste, GreenLamp Reciclare - the only lightning equipment recycler in Romania and GreenGlass Recycling - the largest glass recycling facility in South-Eastern Europe.

GreenGroup was established as a holding in 2011, when GreenTech, GreenFiber, GreenWeee and GreenLamp were reunited under a single brand and with a new shareholders structure, including EBRD and South Eastern Europe Fund, managed by Global Finance.

The most recent investment of Green Group focuses on solving a pressing environmental issue in Romania, that of wasting valuable recyclable resources in the landfills.

The group introduced the most intelligent waste collection infrastructure on the market “SIGUREC”, which is the joint forces of citizens/authorities /retailers and recyclers, meant to encourage voluntary collection by rewarding the population and ensuring that waste is 100% traceable and efficient transported from generator to the recycling facilities.

"We think that Green Group is not solely a business, but also a mission. We deliver integrated recycling solutions by closing the loop of materials use and embracing circular economy, with the aim of creating a sustainable future for companies and the community around".

Being a staunch supporter of green farming, VALVIS Holding has set as a target to turn the Carpathians into an ecological center, and it has reached its goal.

The Group’s core business guidelines covered by the same “green” concept are the following:

    • AQUA Carpatica - Naturally sparkling natural mineral water
      • In 2009, only seven years after the sale of Dorna sparkling natural mineral water to Coca Cola, Valvis Holding Group started to operate again in this business sector, building "AQUA Carpatica", Premium brand, targeting Romanian as well as international market.
      • AQUA Carpatica is the purest sparkling natural mineral water in the world. This high quality water has no equal. Springing out of the Carpathian Mountains, this well-hidden treasure has been protected from the “side effects” of civilization.
    • Domeniile Samburesti - Wine production and selected production of wines DOC
      • In 2005 Valvis Holding Group started to invest in Viti-Pomicola Samburesti, which covers an area of 500 hectares of vineyards and 500 hectares of fruit trees. With an investment program of more than 14,5 million euros, the Samburesti wine came back to life.
      • The whole vineyard area was upgraded, the wine making complex was renovated, a new modern bottling line was built and a standard irrigation system was made available. A replanting program for the 500 ha vineyards started in 2008 and will last until 2010.
    • Dorna Agri - Organic cereal farming under the LaDORNA brand name, the Group preserving related intellectual property rights after the sale to Lactalis Group
